INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of muscular function, EMG(electromyography) and gait on resistance training applications to chronic lower back pain patients.
METHOD: Fourteen male lower back patients volunteered for the study and they were randomly assigned two groups(Experiment : (n=7) 50.2¡¾4.2 yrs, 170.2¡¾7.2 cm, 78.4¡¾1.3 kg,27.2¡¾1.71 % Fat, Control : (n=7) 53.0¡¾5.2 yrs, 171.4¡¾4.3 cm, 81.1¡¾2.9 kg, 28.8¡¾1.8 %Fat). Experimental groups were performed weight bearing exercise 5 times a week for 8 weeks.
RESULT: Muscular function(ROM of Lower back extension, flexion and maximal strength), EMG(Muscular activation and fatigue) and Walking ability were analyzed by one-way ANOVA with repeated measured. As a result, ROM of lower back extension and flexion were significantly higher experiment group than control groups(p>.05). But Muscular activation and fatigue were diverse muscular activation were not significant differed between groups(p>.05) but muscular fatigue were significant differed between groups(p<.05).
CONCLUSION]: Regular weight bearing exercise application were affect to lower back pain patients in torso strength, ROM, walking ability and muscular fatigue.
